This site shows you how to build your own laser pointer from a 16x DVD player. You must dismantle the DVD player to acquire the laser diode. Then get a laser housing unit and remove the original laser. Solder pins onto the end of the DVD laser diode and put it in the laser housing. Then remove the light form the flashlight and drill a hole where the laser would shine. Put the housed laser into the flashlight and put in two AA batteries. There you have it!
