Wearable Device Proposal- Blinking Bracelets

My idea for my wearable project are two bracelets that will light up wen two people shake hands. When I came up with this idea I was thinking about when two people first meet or in general when two people meet, they shake hands. The interaction of two new meeting hands intrigued me because it feels kind of like a reward for meeting someone new and for that your bracelet will light up. My bracelet  will have LED’s attached on the inside of thin fabrics, so the led’s will be visible. I want to program the Arduino to light up when two pressure sensors attached to the two peoples hand, causing their bracelets to light up.

    Hi Emily –

This is a very cool idea. I can already picture it!
The pressure sensor may be a bit awkward to have on the palm of the hand though. How about adding in a touch sensor such as this one?: http://www.trossenrobotics.com/p/phidgets-touch-sensor.aspx
That way you could string out a couple of tiny wires to a ring on the finger (or something like that) and make for a super minimal interface. Or, you could even paint conductive traces on to the hands…
