“Art Against Information” was actually pretty interesting, in my opinion. It really opened my eyes to the fact that anything can used for or made into a piece of art. The idea of using data and making visualizations is something that we encounter everyday however these are very simple approaches, rather than the pieces mentioned in this essay. The most interesting work to me was that of Dragulescu. I thought it was really interesting how he used spam data or information to somehow create architectural forms, as well as nature forms. These visualizations are really interesting forms that are constructed from information or data taken from spam. I really enjoy this idea because it takes information from something (spam) that is overlooked or ignored a majority of the time and turns it into a fascinating form which attracts the viewer and really draws them in. Spam has been transformed into something people now want to explore in Dragulescu’s pieces, which is a very interesting play on spam being perceived as something you never want to look at.
