Feedback Cube

Feedback Cube B. Volta Final Project        Using 4 RS04 ping sensors and a 300w 10″ powered subwoofer, feedback is generated as an individual approaches the 24″ x 24″ x 24″ gray cube. The feedback generated pulses in 3 typed and tones depending on the proximity of the user to the cube. Short…

Kimi Oyama – Final Documentation: PIR Cat Toy

Proposal: For my final project, I thought about all the things I’ve learned and explored so far this semester and what I hadn’t yet. Seeing other people use sensors had me interested in coding for them so I decided that I wanted to do something involving a sensor. The challenges I ran into with my…

Flourish! Conference

I attended Ruth Suehle of Red Hat’s lecture at the Flourish! Conference not knowing quite what to expect. While I’m familiar with the concept of “Open Source”, her lecture expanded this definition and topic to areas outside of pure sofware/code sharing. Her perspective on Open Source as a philosophy was refreshing, optimistic and interesting. While…

Casey Reas Response

What struck me most about Casey Reas’s work was the organic creations and forms that were generated by code and step by step process. For something so particular in geometry and process, one would figure that it would end up looking mechanical or obviously generated. Some of the forms and textures produced look like microbes…

Progress: Final Project

Progress Update:   Still waiting for my servo driver. Started assembling everything and testing servos individually from the arduino. Here is the base for my project completed: Closed completely/open completely Eight control arms to attach servos to mirror pieces.  One servo control circuit using the kit servo and a variable resistor in place of the…

Progress Report After building a prototype, i was able to construct a final model of the puppet. it is about 80% finished. This was the trickiest part. I also figured out how the servo motor would move in order to achieve the correct movement.

Progress Report

I’ve modified my original proposal quite a bit. Also I am still experimenting a bit, haven’t decided if I want to incorporate a third motor.
