Basic geometric shapes incorporated with sound. I believe this is a great example of work that reflects what Browning has presented

iPod Band

pdPod

pdPod allows the creation of interactive musical applications for the iPod. It integrates Pure Data (http://crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.html ) a visual sound programming language by Miller Puckette which allows the rapid development of musical applications. Guenter Geiger (http://gige.xdv.org/ ) has made PDa (http://gige.xdv.org/pda/ ), a port of Pure Data for PDA Linux devices which we recently adapted…

3d VR in Traverse City

Watch 3D Virtual Reality at the Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City in Entertainment Videos | View More Free Videos Online at Veoh.com Mainly because I’m from Michigan, too…although whoever posted this video doesn’t know how to spell Urbana-Champaign. I like it in part because it emphasizes and enhances the idea of sharing; you don’t…

PD video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFEICuS2lZ8 This is a pretty cool audiovisual video of someone using pd. I like the visual effects of it and the sounds it makes itself. It actually starts off with a very enjoyable rhythm and than kind of just gets crazy from there. But aside from that it’s very visually entertaining. I don’t know what…

If the number is too high (like 7), there will be two numbers in a column the wearer must add together (3+4). There is a clear…

Multitouch responsive interface for computer-based music

Multitouch Prototype 2 from Randy Jones on Vimeo. One of the biggest points of interest for me is interface design, more specifically for synthesizers and computers. The keyboard concept is over 600 years old, so why is it still the main choice for modern synthesizers? This type of alternative interface is a nice move in the…

Electroplankton Experiment #1 with PD Pure Data Software

I thought this experiment was cool, because it uses audio as well as interactive simulation. It uses the pure data software that we use in class and created this video game like picture. I like the fact the pen controls when the sounds are announced and the where the objects move. However, I do think…

Etch-A-Sketch Clock

Found this a while back. i thought it was a cool experiment but a really stupid idea because who has time to wait a full 20 secs for a EAS to draw out the time. I’m unsure whether pure data was used but it was built on Arduino which is a computing platform which can be used…

Ghost iPod

I thought this was particularly interesting because it relates not only what we’ve done in my responsive arts class, but it applies to the unexpected and the results are an amazing effect. My guess is that they used the accelerometer in the iPod touch to sync with the Pure Data audio.
