Digital Media and Contemporary Art

What place is there for games in contemporary art? (2 paragraphs). Have games tangibly (demonstrably) ever changed your life for the better? (if so, how?) (if not, how?) (1 paragraph)

As games and contemporary art continue to adapt to the changing times, the link between them can vary. Games continue to evolve into being more interactive, informative, and, could be argued, as a new form of education. With that, contemporary art in the form of games can also be interactive, informative, and educational. With more interaction within games, people are able to be engaged and learn in a way that is both informative and fun. Games allow for contemporary art to be a form of entertainment while still conveying the purpose or message of the art piece.

Physical art, meaning art that is painted/drawn and is a still piece, has a lot of competition with trying to have people evaluate or even know of it. With the economy constantly wanting to advance and find the next innovative product, classic pieces of work, in general, can be under appreciated. Games in contemporary art allow for exposure of artists. As aforementioned, it keeps the viewer engaged and can still convey the message they established in their piece.

Games have not had a huge impact on my life. I do not really play any games, so they are not too important to me. However, when I do, it is usually with a friend or family member so it adds a great bonding experience. So games have changed my life for the better in the sense that it creates bonds with my relationships.
