This ad by Ad Council is named “ Love Has No Labels “. The ad was made with the intent to stop prejudice against love that is seen out of the ordinary. The ad sends out a powerful message stating that love sees no gender, race, religion, age, or disability.  This work utilizes principle 3, reflect, and principle 4, engage. The viewers are first presented with skeletons. The skeletons give no clue as to who the person behind the screen is until they reveal themselves. The reason why this is a reflection is because the viewers are forced to reflect on what their idea of love is. The crowd who participated in this viewing are then engaging by following the message and leaving behind any prejudice they may have.

This piece of art by Mary Ellen Croteau is named “ Alicia “. The piece is made out of plastic bottle caps. This work fits principles 3, reflect, and 6, evolve. When viewing this work for the first time, the viewer realizes that unlike other works, this portrait is made completely out of bottle caps. The viewer can reflect on what they personally do with their bottle caps. If inspired, the viewer can evolve the uses of bottle caps by creating something similar or coming up with a fresh idea. Personally, I like this idea of evolving and creating something new because I throw away these items when I could be using them to create new things.

My idea is to have billboards surrounding beaches. The billboards will contain pictures of dirty, trashed beaches and its effects on the environment. This project will reveal to the audience the harmful effects littering has on the environment. Hopefully, it will cause people to participate in protecting the environment by picking up trash they see and preventing it from making its way into the water.

My idea is to have recycling centers at schools / libraries. This recycling is not one you take out with the trash. Rather than taking them away, the items in the boxes will be able to be reused by students. There are times when students need cardboards / papers for projects. Therefore, rather than wasting money and using new items. They are able to reuse. This project will allow students to participate in reusing and will evolve the products recycled by allowing them to be used multiple times rather than disposed after one use.
