The goal of my assignment was to create a scenery while lighting up led’s. I decided on creating a pond. The pond consisted of a swan, two ducks, three koi fish, and lily pads that would light up. The swan and the ducks were origami, and all the materials were decorated using watercolor paint.

step 1: gather materials. you will need:

• paper
• watercolor paint
• conductive tape
• tape
• scissors
• Leds
• cardboard or hard base

step 2: paint the paper background

• paint  a page of paper orange for the ducks
• blue for the water
• green for the lily pads
• orange spotted for the fish

 

step 3: build the parallel circuit

• place the circuit wrapping around the cardboard board in a box pattern. you will do this twice so the box will be parallel to each other
• place leds within the two lines as you please
• place coin in any upper corner

step 4: origami

• make origami duck
• make origami swan
• cut out pieces of painted paper to make fish and lily pads

 

Step 5: combine

• place origami birds on top of paper
• place lily pads in on top of led. cut out whole so leds can poke through
